Where They At This Weekend?

Let’s take a quick look at where our ten guys will be this weekend as many are winding down their games seasons and some are entrenched in their State Championship runs…

Dorial Green-Beckham is playing Saturday (11/12) at 1:30 PM against #1 seed Webb City (12-0) in the Class 4A quarterfinals.  Many think this will be the final game for the Nation’s top recruit.  However, as well all know DGB has the ability to take over a game himself.  That said, the Cardinals haven’t even been challenged this season.  DGB has 112 catches for 2,176 yards and 24 TD’s this season so far.

Mario Edwards and his Denton-Ryan squad puts their 10-0 record on the line tomorrow (Friday 11/11) at 7:00 PM vs. Amarillo Caprock (8-2) in the first round of the Texas 4A-Division I playoffs.  While they are expected to win, during the playoffs you NEVER know.

Johnathan Gray plays tonight (11/10) at 7:00 PM against Fort Worth-Dunbar (6-4) at Wildcat Stadium.  This is the first round of the Texas State 4A-Division II playoffs.  Aledo is expected to cruise to an easy victory and Gray looks to pad his already remarkable stats on the season.  He has 197 carries for 2,430 yards and 47 rushing touchdowns.  The records are falling as we speak and tonight should be no different.

Noah Spence and his Bishop McDevitt Crusaders (8-2) take on Donegal High (6-4) in the first round of the Pennsylvania State Playoffs in Mechanicsburg, PA on Friday (11/11) at 7 PM.  Teams have avoided Spence all season and that isn’t likely to change in the playoffs.  We will see if the squad can pick him up and move on.

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs plays Friday at 7 PM also in the WCAC Semi-Finals against St. John’s at Kline Stadium.  They beat St. John’s 28-14 earlier this season (10/21) and look to down them again – this time for good.  Diggs has 32 catches for 735 yards and 11 TD’s this season.  Our Lady of the Good Counsel is ranked #7 in the Nation by Sports Illustrated.

Eddie Goldman and his Friendship Collegiate Academy squad (8-1) plays their final regular season game on Friday at 7 PM against Chesapeake Storm in Lexington Park, MD.  They should cruise to victory over the 5-3 Storm and then get ready for their playoff run.

Landon Collins and the Dutchtown High Griffins take their 10-0 record into the Louisiana State playoffs against Ponchatoula (5-5) tomorrow (11/11).  They should cruise to the second round led by their RB/DB combo stud of Collins.

QB Gunner Kiel and the Columbus East High School Olympians (9-2) will take on Evansville Central (7-5) in the Indiana State 4A Quarterfinals on Friday at 7 PM.  It has been a whirlwind season for Kiel who verbally committed to in-state school Indiana, only to revoke that promise and re-open to other schools.  He will be focused only on getting past Evansville Central on Friday.

Keith Marshall‘s season was ended as his Millbrook High School squad lost a 35-0 decision in the first round of the playoffs.  Marshall will be visiting Clemson this weekend.

Nelson Agholor and Berkeley Prep (9-0) will take on Desoto County (5-5) in their final regular season tune-up of 2011.  The playoffs start next Friday and Berkeley will take on Frostproof High at 7:30 PM.
